Dr. Heredia has been practicing Family Medicine in Alamogordo, NM for over twenty years. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX in 1995 and finished his residency in Family Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1998.

When he started practicing in Alamogordo in 1998 he practiced full spectrum family medicine which included obstetrics. In 2002 he opened White Sands Family Practice Clinic where he continued to practice full spectrum family medicine as well as providing open access scheduling (no appointments) with other providers who worked with him. That seemed to work well for the population of patients that he served, so he expanded the hours into the evening and on weekends to provide a convenience. As time went on the weekend and evening hours eventually subsided but he continued open access scheduling (walk ins) during regular business hours.

Most recently, Dr. Heredia has collaborated with Esperanza Guidance Services to participate in the Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment program also called the SBIRT program which is used to identify and reduce dependence and abuse of alcohol, illicit or prescription medications. As a result of participating in this program, Dr. Heredia decided to pursue getting his buprenorphine waiver to treat opioid use disorder. He still continues to provide usual family medical care and is also certified to provide Commercial Drivers License Physicals.

In his leisure time he enjoys running, hiking, bicycling and spending time with his wife and daughters.
