Technological advancements in health care have resulted in a wealth of data available to medical professionals and researchers, however, hypersensitivity around sharing/disseminating data has potentially stalled its analysis and application. Often overlooked in this discussion is the voice of the public.
This session hosted by UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) will feature a general discussion of sharing public health data and technological advances that assure security, followed by health professionals, researchers and patient representatives presenting their community health research endeavours, and will conclude with a panel discussion and question segment with all participants addressing the challenges and success stories of engaging the community in these research areas.
