Biography
Dr. Tashmeeta Ahad is clinical assistant professor and director of translational photomedicine research at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Department of Dermatology and Skin Science. She is a clinician-scientist working with the Photomedicine Institute in the Skin Research Program at the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute.
Dr. Ahad completed her medical training at the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford and dermatology residency at the Dermatology Centre at Salford Royal in Manchester. She subsequently completed a fellowship in photobiology and laser medicine at UBC. Her clinical and research interests include translation of optical biopsy techniques for monitoring skin cancer treatment, study of photosensitivity disorders and use of laser, photodynamic therapy and phototherapy to treat skin conditions.
