Biography
Dr. Miriam Spering holds bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from the University of Heidelberg, and a doctorate in psychology and neuroscience from the University of Giessen in Germany. She completed a postdoc at New York University and joined the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2011. She was promoted to associate professor in 2017 and has served as the director of the graduate program in neuroscience at UBC since 2022. Her group focuses on the interaction between vision and movement and investigates sensorimotor function and failure in clinical populations, such as patients with Parkinson's disease.
